A note from Ben & Narelle
Like a lot of our guests, we believe holidays are best enjoyed with the whole family, fur babies included. Over the years we’ve discovered that the Granite Belt is one of Australia’s most genuinely dog-friendly regions. Not just “dogs allowed on a lead in the car park” friendly, but wineries that pull up a water bowl, cafés with shaded outdoor tables, and walks that your dog will remember as fondly as you do.
We’ve put together this Passport to help you find the good stuff easily. Enjoy every moment of it.
Wineries
One of the best things about the Granite Belt? So many of its wineries genuinely love dogs. Whether you’re after a long lazy lunch, a relaxed tasting, or a wander through the vines with your mate, you won’t need to leave anyone behind.
Ridgemill Estate
Dogs are welcome right inside the cellar door. Pick up some local produce and gourmet goodies while you're there, perfect for a Granite Belt picnic.
Summit Estate
A total favourite for dog lovers. There's an actual Fur Babies Menu, Puppuccinos and Barkuterie Boards. Grab a bean bag, find a spot on the lawn, and let everyone unwind.
Heritage Estate
Home to the famous Vine+Dine Journey and beautiful grazing platters. Smaller dogs welcome inside; bigger dogs are right at home on the verandahs or in the fenced old school yard.
Art of Krupinski
An open-plan cellar door where dogs can roam freely through most of the space. Enjoy traditional Polish pierogi and local snacks while you taste your way through the range.
Serrena Que Estate
Dogs welcome inside, and off-leash outside, always a nice bonus. Water is provided for visiting pooches, which tells you everything about how they feel about dogs here.
Balancing Heart Vineyard
Walk the vineyard trail to the famous heart-shaped balancing rock, stay for a meal, or just sit on the verandah with a glass. Dogs welcome inside and out. Live music most weekends.
Jester Hill Wines
Pre-book a grazing platter, settle in on the verandah, and soak it all up. Say g'day to resident dogs Scooby-Doo the Great Dane and Major the Blue Heeler, the friendliest welcome committee around.
Hidden Creek Winery
Award-winning wines, lakeside dining and vineyard views beneath shady trees. One of those spots where it's very easy to lose an afternoon in the best possible way.
Robert Channon Wines
Resident dog JS Bark is always delighted to meet new visitors. Lovely outdoor seating for wine and lunch, a genuinely warm, welcoming cellar door.
Ravenscroft Vineyard
Cheese platters, tea, coffee and soft drinks for the designated drivers. Pre-book your cheese platter. Say hello to Maremma Barney and Billie the Border Collie x Wolfhound!
Golden Grove Estate
Hand-crafted grazing platters with estate-grown olives, local cheeses and seasonal delights. Plenty of shady outdoor areas, a lovely relaxed afternoon spot.
Bungavarra Wines
Dogs welcome on the verandah with full views across the tasting area. Well-behaved, small dogs may be permitted inside, it's worth asking when you arrive.
Cafés, dining & local flavours
From a brilliant bacon-and-egg roll at a Main Street café to a cold beer in a country pub beer garden, there’s plenty of places to eat and drink well in the Granite Belt, and your dog is welcome at all of them.
Sutton's Juice Factory
An absolute Granite Belt icon. Famous apple pies, proper cider and gorgeous local produce. There's a shaded area at the entrance with water for dogs, pop your pup there and go get yourself a slice of something wonderful.
Brinx Deli & Café
A local favourite for good reason. Breakfast, lunch, great coffee and a relaxed alfresco vibe on Main Street. Dogs are welcome out front, a brilliant spot to start the day.
Stanthorpe Cheese
Handcrafted cheeses, a lovely outdoor verandah and a café menu to match. Pull up a seat, let the dog settle at your feet, and work your way through a cheese board.
Ashbern Farms
Strawberry ice cream with a view of the strawberry fields. Dogs welcome in the outdoor picnic area. Bring the kids, bring the dog, bring a spare napkin.
Jamworks Gourmet Foods
Part café, part tasting experience. Sample locally made jams, sauces and relishes, then settle in under the covered dog-friendly verandah for a proper lunch.
Zest Pastries
Gourmet pies, pastries and fresh sandwiches with outdoor tables and a dog bowl waiting. An easy, lovely stop for travellers passing through.
Ballandean Pub
A beautifully renovated country pub with a dog-friendly beer garden. Cold beer, good food, open for lunch and dinner. The kind of place you wander in for a quick drink and stay three hours.
The Ginyard
Locally made gin using Granite Belt fruit, a covered verandah, and, just to make things interesting, alpacas nearby. Dogs on leads are very welcome. A genuinely fun afternoon stop.
Walks & adventures
The Granite Belt has incredible scenery to explore, and while dogs aren’t permitted inside National Parks, there are brilliant alternatives right on the doorstep. Here are some of our favourites.
Donnelly's Castle
Giant granite boulders, narrow rock passages to squeeze through, and a genuine bushranger hideout to explore. The kind of adventure dogs and their humans absolutely love, a brilliant alternative to Girraween National Park.
Sentimental Rocks
An easy, beautiful bush walk right on the edge of Stanthorpe showcasing the region's famous granite boulders. Great for a morning stroll before coffee, the dog will be very pleased with you.
Quart Pot Creek & Red Bridge
Kilometres of lovely walking paths winding through the heart of Stanthorpe. Off-leash areas from Connor Street (between Talc and Britannia Streets) and Allison Street off Archibald Street. A firm favourite with local dog owners.
Mt Marlay Lookout
A short steep drive, but the views across town at the top are absolutely worth it. Free mounted binoculars, a short summit walk, and scenery that makes you glad you came.
Ballandean Pyramid
A quirky man-made granite pyramid just outside Ballandean. One of those odd, wonderful things the Granite Belt throws at you. Easy to view from the roadside and worth pulling over for a look.

A day out from Country Style
Staying at Country Style Holiday Park with your fur babies
We love having dogs at the park, and to make sure everyone has a great time (two-legged and four-legged alike), there are a few simple things to know before you arrive. Everything you need to know about bringing your dog to the park from registration at check-in to our off-leash area and pet-friendly sites. It’s a quick read and helps us keep the park happy for everyone.
PET POLICY
Pets are only permitted on sites and selected approved accommodations.
- You must register your pet at check-in. Arrival with additional pets or different pets on check-in may result in the booking not being honoured and forfeiture of all monies paid.
- Pets must be kept on a lead at all times while within the park.
- Pets must be supervised by you at all times while in the park.
- Do not use the communal laundry facilities, including sinks, to wash your pet or its bedding.
- Please clean up after your pet. Mess must be cleaned up immediately and disposed of in the appropriate bins.
- No pet is to be left unattended including in caravans, tents, or trailers at any time.
- You are at all times responsible for the management of your pet while within the park.
